Calamba Doctors’ Hospital was honored with the Gawad Kaagapay Award for Excellence in Tuberculosis Care and Management at the Dayang Masalanta Awards 2026, organized by Calamba Medical Center. The recognition highlights the hospital’s strong commitment to quality patient care and its significant contributions to tuberculosis prevention, treatment, and control.
The achievement reflects the collaborative efforts of the Infection Prevention and Control Unit, led by Desiree B. Sulit, MAN, RN, and the TB DOTS Committee under Dra. Arabella P. Quing. Their leadership has been instrumental in strengthening the hospital’s TB programs and ensuring effective, compassionate care.
In addition, Dra. Anna Sarah R. Pulumbarit, Pulmonologist, was recognized as a nominee for the Gawad Tanglaw Award. She actively manages TB patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including those under the DOTS program, contributing to improved TB control within the hospital and the Calamba community.
Dr. Pulumbarit reported 155 TB cases and initiated treatment for 148 patients, while also promoting GeneXpert testing and enhancing collaboration between private care and the DOTS program—leading to better early detection, treatment access, and completion rates.
The awarding ceremony was held on April 8, 2026, at Seda Hotel Nuvali, marking another milestone in the hospital’s commitment to public health and community service.
