Calamba Doctors’ Hospital Plus Life Center Triumphs at the 1st Southern Luzon HIV Treatment Hub Conference

The Calamba Doctors’ Hospital (CDH) Plus Life Center proudly brought home two major awards and four nominations from the 1st Southern Luzon HIV Treatment Hub Conference, held last October 27–29, 2025 at Luxent Hotel, Quezon City. The landmark event gathered HIV treatment hubs, government partners, and healthcare leaders to recognize outstanding performance and innovations in HIV care across Southern Luzon.

The CDH Plus Life Center was honored as the Top Performing Facility in Monitoring Milestone and the Top Performing Facility in TLD Rollout Achievement. These distinctions underscore the center’s outstanding dedication to patient monitoring, data accuracy, and the successful implementation of the Tenofovir-Lamivudine-Dolutegravir (TLD) regimen — a cornerstone in modern HIV therapy that improves treatment outcomes and quality of life for people living with HIV (PLHIV).

The awards serve as a testament to the center’s unwavering pursuit of excellence in healthcare delivery and public health advocacy. The Monitoring Milestone Award, focused on Viral Load monitoring, reflects the team’s consistency and accuracy in ensuring timely testing and results — made possible through the center’s own viral load machine, which enhances efficiency and provides faster turnaround for patient care. Meanwhile, the TLD Rollout Achievement Award celebrates the center’s commitment to advancing HIV treatment through the effective adoption and management of the TLD regimen, in alignment with the Department of Health’s national program goals and the global 95–95–95 targets by 2030.

Representing the CDH Plus Life Center were Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Officer and HIV Coordinator Ms. Desiree B. Sulit, and HACT Nurse Ms. Jamaeca J. Abesamis. Their collaborative efforts, supported by the hub’s physicians, encoder, medical technologists, pharmacists, and patients, have collectively built a model of efficiency, empathy, and empowerment within the HIV care continuum.

“It was challenging – from managing responsibilities after the resignation of our HACT Nurse to navigating the complexities of service delivery. Today, seeing CDH Plus Life Center honored with two top awards at the 1st Southern Tagalog HIV Treatment Hub Conference fills me with gratitude and pride,” said Ms. Sulit.

For CDH Plus Life Center, the event was more than just an opportunity to celebrate achievements—it was a reaffirmation of its mission to champion accessible, compassionate, and evidence-based HIV care in the country.

With these accolades, the Calamba Doctors’ Hospital Plus Life Center continues to stand as a symbol of dedication, innovation, and unity in the fight against HIV. The team remains steadfast in its commitment to expand its reach, strengthen partnerships, and inspire others to join in building a future where every individual can live with dignity, health, and hope.
